The Chinese online retail market reached a size of $23 billion in 2011 ? a growth of 78 percent annually since 2006. With only 34 percent of the Chinese population using the internet today, the fast growth of e-commerce is expected to continue. Of China?s 530 million internet users, 164 shopped online in 2011. A.T. Kearney estimates the market to reach $81 billion over the next five years. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce expect their e-commerce retail market to become the world's largest in 2013.
