College Football: Bobcats fade against Wolf Pack

San Marcos ? Texas State isn?t going to cut it as a first-year program in the Football Bowl Subdivision if it keeps playing 30 minutes of a 60-minute game.

The Bobcats found out that harsh reality Saturday afternoon against Nevada.

Despite taking a slim lead into halftime, Texas State came out flat after the break. The Bobcats went scoreless in the second half as the Wolf Pack broke the game open en route to a 34-21 win.

?This kind of makes you, as a coach, sick to your stomach and I hope it does as players,? Texas State head coach Dennis Franchione said. ?We had opportunities. We put ourselves in positions, had some chances and we just didn?t get it done.?

Texas State (2-2) did just enough in the first half, which is why Franchione?s team took a 21-20 lead into the locker room.

The Bobcats got it going early when junior safety Justin Iwuji picked off Nevada sophomore quarterback Cody Fajardo on the fourth play of the game. Iwuj, who returned the ball to the Wolf Pack 17-yard line, remembered something he saw in film and jumped in front of the pass.

?They like to run routes at the sticks, so I was just able to make a good break on the ball,? Iwuji said. ?Every time we take the field as a defense, our goal is three-and-out or takeaway. If we can do that, it?s going to aid our offense.?

Texas State?s offense cashed in on the turnover five plays later when senior running back Marcus Curry punched in a 1-yard run. It was Curry?s fifth touchdown of the season (four rushing, one receiving).

Following two scores by Nevada (a 9-yard touchdown pass and a 24-yard field goal), the Bobcats opened things up a bit more. Texas State scored twice to offset another touchdown by the Wolf Pack, once on a 2-yard shovel pass from senior quarterback Shaun Rutherford to redshirt freshman running back Tim Gay (14-13) and then on a 28-yard pass from Rutherford to junior wide receiver Andy Erickson (21-13).

?That was actually the first touchdown I?ve scored in college, so it felt really good,? said Erickson, who caught eight passes for 108 yards. ?I just wish we could have come out with a win.?

Erickson?s touchdown, which came with two minutes, 46 seconds remaining in the second quarter, proved to be the last highlight of the game for the Bobcats? offense. Texas State put up 21 points and 171 yards of total offense in the first half, compared to zero and 73 in the second.

?We?ve had our second-half problems for whatever reason,? Franchione said. ?I don?t have a good explanation for it; whether we?re wearing down or play calls, which are my fault, but we?ll look at it and see what it is. To beat a team like that, we need to make plays in the second half.?

Nevada (4-1), a strong running team, chose to pass more after halftime and caught Texas State by surprise. Fajardo completed 12 of his 18 passes in the second half for 171 yards, including several long third downs.

The Bobcats must regroup before heading on the road for the first time in three weeks. Texas State takes on New Mexico on Saturday at 5 p.m.

MEDINAH, Ill. (AP) ? Europe sure didn't look like a team trailing by four points in the Ryder Cup.

Under a darkening sky, there was still enough light to see the whites of Ian Poulter's bulging eyes and his golf ball disappear into the cup for a fifth straight birdie ? and another crucial point Saturday. There was no mistaking the smile of captain Jose Maria Olazabal, who waited from sunrise to sunset at Medinah for hope that this cup was still within reach.

Right when it looked like the Americans were a lock to win it back, Poulter came through with a performance so remarkable that it was the only match Europe won when it trailed on the back nine. Right before him, Luke Donald matched a clutch shot by Tiger Woods with one that was even better and it kept Woods winless for the first time going into Sunday singles.

Those two matches gave Europe a load of momentum going into the final day, even if all it really changed was the size of the deficit.

The Americans still had a big lead, 10-6. Europe at least had hope.

The endless chants of "USA! USA!" gave way at the end to snappy serenades of "Ole, Ole, Ole" as both sides trudged to their team rooms in darkness, the Europeans in their berry-colored sweaters walking a little taller.

"We're excited about our position," U.S. captain Davis Love III said. "But we know it's not over yet."

That's what Ben Crenshaw said in 1999 at Brookline when the Americans trailed by the same score, and then delivered the greatest comeback in Ryder Cup history. That's what Europe faces now.

The message Olazabal had for his team Saturday night was simple.

"Let's go out there and play your socks off."

Olazabal remembers that American comeback as well as anyone. He was warming up on the range when the Americans sent their best players out early and won the first six matches. He was in the decisive match against Justin Leonard, who holed a 45-foot putt on the 17th hole. And he was in the team room in tears with the rest of the Europeans.

Is the Spaniard a big believer in fate?

"I believe momentum will come our way," Olazabal said. "Why not tomorrow?"

Olazabal borrowed a page from that '99 Ryder Cup by loading the top of his singles lineup with his best players. Luke Donald leads off against Bubba Watson, followed by Poulter against Webb Simpson, Rory McIlroy against Keegan Bradley and Justin Rose against Phil Mickelson.

Love put Woods in the anchor positions against Francesco Molinari, whom Woods beat in Wales two years ago.

The European strategy was no surprise. Love was at Brookline, too. He realized Europe had no other choice. And he was not the least bit worried that his team would look ahead to winning, or turn tight and play not to lose.

"Even if they were in primary school, they know about 1999, and they know the story," Love said. "They know Ben Crenshaw. They know Justin Leonard. They know what can happen. And they're going to be having the same kind of team meeting we had in '99. 'All right, boys, we've got to win the first six.' And then the game is one."

The final two matches Saturday were a showcase of what the Ryder Cup is all about ? one brilliant shot after another, birdies on every hole, suspense at every turn.

Donald and Sergio Garcia were on the verge of blowing a 4-up lead to hard-charging Woods and Steve Stricker, hanging on when Donald matched two birdies with Woods, including a tee shot into the 17th that plopped down 2 feet from the cup.

Woods, who made five birdies on the back nine for the second straight day without a point to show for it, was thinking more of the big picture.

"Being up four is nice," he said. "We are in a great spot right now to win the cup."

Poulter and McIlroy were 2 down with six holes to play against Jason Dufner and Zach Johnson when McIlroy made a 15-foot birdie putt on the 13th, and Poulter took it from there.

"We had to make birdies, and wow! Five in a row. It was awesome," Poulter said. "I've got the world No. 1 at my side, backing me up. It allowed me to hit some golf shots."

The crowd was still buzzing as it filed out of Medinah, and Poulter grinned.

"It's pretty fun, this Ryder Cup," said Poulter, who raised his career record to 11-3-0.

It's been plenty fun for the Americans, who for the first time have not lost any of the four sessions since the Ryder Cup switched to the current format in 1979. Mickelson and Bradley were flawless in foursomes, matching a Ryder Cup record for largest margin with a 7-and-6 win over Donald and Lee Westwood.

Mickelson and Bradley have been so dominant that they have yet to play the 18th hole in any of their three matches. Bradley became the first rookie since Garcia in 1999 to win his first three matches.

They didn't play in the afternoon, part of the master plan by U.S. captain Davis Love III to make sure his players were fresh for Sunday. Love became the first U.S. captain since 1979 to make sure each of his players sat out at least one match before the final day.

Now, he finds out if it will work.

"We're not disappointed," Love said of the late rally by Europe. "We haven't lost a segment yet, and we're just going to try to keep that string going."

Despite the last two matches that swung momentum away from them, the Americans only have to look at their 10-6 lead ? their largest since it was 10?-5? in 1981 ? to realize how close they are to winning back that 17-inch gold trophy. They only need 14? points to win. That translates to four wins and a halve in the 12 singles matches, traditionally an American strength.

And they have built this lead without getting a single point from Woods, who has lost his last five matches with Stricker in two Ryder Cups and a Presidents Cup.

"I've played well the last two afternoons and didn't get a point," Woods said. "It's tough. Yesterday I made a bunch of birdies and today I made five on the back nine and it just wasn't enough."

His team has carried him along, though.

Watson and Simpson rolled to a 5-and-4 win in the afternoon, while Dustin Johnson and Matt Kuchar won for the second straight time in fourballs in a tight match. It was tied going to the par-3 17th, a daunting shot from an elevated tee to a narrow green guarded by water. Johnson hit 8-iron to 20 feet and poured in the birdie putt, setting off the loudest cheer of a raucous week outside Chicago. They halved the 18th for a 1-up win.

"Probably the loudest roar I've ever heard," Johnson said. "In that situation, probably one of the best putts I've ever made."

The Americans had a 5-3 lead to start the day, and it was critical for the Europeans to make inroads. Instead, they saw more American red on the scoreboards and heard endless cheers erupt from all corners of Medinah.

Leading the way was Bradley, the rock star of this Ryder Cup who was so fired up that he came out to the first tee well before his match to ask for noise. In alternate shot, the most difficult format, Bradley and Mickelson had six birdies in 10 holes, and their 7-and-6 win tied the Ryder Cup record last matched in 1991.

Jim Furyk and Brandt Snedeker atoned for a Friday loss by beating McIlroy and Graeme McDowell in 18 holes, and the Americans took an 8-4 lead to the afternoon. All the momentum was on their side. The crowd felt it, and so did the players from both teams.

"It was hard ? very hard ? to ignore the red on the board," McDowell said. "It's hard to ignore the noise that's been made around the golf course. There's blood in the water. They're up for it."

That's what made those last two matches so critical.

Woods did not play Saturday morning, the first time he's ever been at the Ryder Cup in uniform without a tee time, and he didn't contribute much in falling so far behind. But he turned it around on the back nine, pointing to the cup when a birdie putt fell, screaming orders at his tee shot as the ball was in the air, looking like he was on the verge of a big comeback. Donald and Garcia, who had yet to win a point, made sure that didn't happen.

"That was big," Donald said. "Having these matches turn our way has really given the European side a lift that we needed. It's given us a heartbeat for tomorrow."

Poulter and McIlroy came up big in so many ways. The Americans had won every match at Medinah when leading on the back nine until the final match. McIlroy made his sliding birdie putt from 15 feet on the 13th hole, and Poulter did the rest.

"Poults gets that look in his eye ? especially the week of the Ryder Cup ? and it's really impressive," McIlroy said.

The Europeans now hope to repeat the American comeback in 1999. The Americans had Ben Crenshaw, wagging his finger and saying, "I'm a big believer in fate." The Europeans have Olazabal, a proud Spaniard and teammate of the late Seve Ballesteros. This is the first Ryder Cup since his death from a brain tumor in May 2011, and the Europeans will dress in navy blue, the color Ballesteros favored on Sunday. Their uniforms will bear his iconic silhouette.

"It's always possible," Paul Lawrie said. "Until it's impossible to do it, then you fight on, certainly for Jos? Mar?a this week. No one is going to be giving up."

Apple's Cook apologizes for Maps flaws, recommends rivals

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Apple Inc Chief Executive Tim Cook apologized Friday to customers frustrated with glaring errors in its new Maps service, and, in an unusual move for the consumer giant, directed them to rival services instead, such as Google Inc's Maps.

The rare apology follows Apple's launch of its own mapping service earlier this month, when it began selling the iPhone 5 and rolled out iOS 6, the highly anticipated update to its mobile software platform.

Users complained that the new Maps service - based on Dutch navigation equipment and digital map maker TomTom NV's's data - contained geographical errors and gaps in information, and that it lacked features that made Google Maps so popular, including public transit directions, comprehensive traffic data or street view pictures.

"We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better," Cook said in a letter to customers released on its website, adding that the company "fell short" of its commitment to deliver "the best experience possible to our customers."

Unusually, he suggested that customers download rival mapping services available in Apple's App Store, while the company improves the product.

"While we're improving Maps, you can try alternatives by downloading map apps from the App Store like Bing, MapQuest and Waze, or use Google or Nokia maps by going to their websites and creating an icon on your home screen to their web app," he said in the letter.

"It is a bit unusual but at the same time, Tim is keeping Apple's commitment to provide the best user experience for customers," Sterne Agee analyst Shaw Wu said. "A key reason for Apple's success is keeping customers happy so we think this is a good move."

"People forget that Google Maps started out inferior to Mapquest and Yahoo Maps," he added.

Apple is typically loathe to tout rival services and the contrite apology by Cook is an indication of how Apple is changing under the chief executive who took over last year from co-founder Steve Jobs just before his death.

Shares of Apple were down 1.8 percent in late morning trading at $669.22.

NEW APPLE

The last time Apple faced such widespread criticism was in 2010, when users complained of signal reception issues on the then-new iPhone 4 model.

A defiant Jobs at the time rejected any suggestion the iPhone 4's design was flawed, but offered consumers free phone cases at a rare, 90-minute press conference called to address those complaints.

While Apple fixed the issue, Jobs had apologized to users only after he was specifically asked if he was sorry. He also said the issue was shared by all the major manufacturers, naming rivals Research in Motion, Samsung Electronics and HTC Corp specifically.

Cook's suggestion that Apple users download other map apps, particularly Google Maps, represents an about-turn for Apple, which had introduced its service as a direct challenge to the popular service offered by ally-turned-rival Google.

Apple Maps replaced the Google Maps app, which is no longer available on iOS 6. Users now have to access Google Maps through the browser.

Cook said that more that more than 100 million iOS devices are using the new Apple Maps and that the more people use Maps, the better it will get. He also offered some hints on why the company decided to remove Google Maps.

Apple launched the Google-powered Maps "initially with the first version of iOS" and the company created a home-grown version of the service as it wanted to provide more features, Cook said.

"As time progressed, we wanted to provide our customers with even better Maps including features such as turn-by-turn directions, voice integration, Flyover and vector-based maps," he said in the letter.

Google provides turn-by-turn navigation on Android-based devices but the popular feature was not available for Apple devices.

Google and Apple were close partners with the original iPhone in 2007 and its inclusion of YouTube and Google Maps. But ties between the two companies have been strained by the rise of Google's Android mobile operating system, now the world's leading platform for smartphones.

Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt said earlier this week that it has not submitted a new Google Maps app to Apple, but added the search giant talks to the Cupertino-based company "every day."

Map shows Tonopah Arizona, where a suspected car-jacker appears to shoot himself on live television.

(AP) ? A man fatally shot himself in the head Friday on live national television at the end of a high-speed carjacking chase that began in Phoenix and ended about 90 minutes later within 80 miles of the California border.

Fox News was covering the chase that began about midday using a live helicopter shot from Phoenix affiliate KSAZ-TV. The man driving a copper-colored four-door sedan stopped, ran into the desert and placed a handgun to his head and fired.

The man was declared dead at the scene and hasn't yet been identified, according to Sgt. Tommy Thompson, a Phoenix police spokesman.

Fox News anchor Shepard Smith told viewers that the video was supposed to be on a 10-second delay so it could be cut off from airing if something went awry.

"We really messed up, and we're all very sorry," Smith said.

Fox apologized for showing the violence on air.

"We took every precaution to avoid any such live incident by putting the helicopter pictures on a five second delay," said Michael Clemente, executive vice president of news editorial. "Unfortunately, this mistake was the result of a severe human error and we apologize for what viewers ultimately saw on the screen."

More frequently than its rivals, Fox News Channel picks up car chases from its local affiliates and airs them live. It's gripping television, a live mystery with no clear resolution, and often provides a short-term ratings boost as viewers tune in to see how it ends. Critics say the chases themselves rarely rise to the level of national news. The Phoenix station was not airing the chase live when it ended.

Thompson said the man allegedly stole a car from a couple at gunpoint outside a Phoenix restaurant just before 11 a.m. MST.

Police officers located the vehicle and began a pursuit and the man fired several shots, Thompson said. He said the shots hit the police vehicle and the officers escaped injury.

The suspect headed west on Interstate 10, then pulled onto a dirt road that Thompson said was "70 to 80 miles east of the California line."

"He got out of the car and shot himself," Thompson said. "Efforts to revive him were not successful and he was dead at the scene. We don't have an ID yet."

Fox returned repeatedly to shots showing the car passing big-rig trucks that typically travel at about 70 mph as if they were standing still.

Police cars did not appear to be immediately behind the car during most of the chase.

Shepard Smith was narrating the video and clearly had his doubts about what was being shown from the moment the man stopped the car. "This scares me," he said.

"You wait for the end of these things and you worry about how they may end up," he said. "This makes me a little nervous, I got to tell you. A little nervous."

The video showed the man running erratically in a field before putting the gun to his head and firing. He fell to the ground.

Fox's picture quickly cut to Smith, who was shouting "get off, get off, get off, get off."

After the commercial break, Smith apologized repeatedly.

"That didn't belong on TV. We took every precaution we knew how to take to keep that from being on TV and I personally apologize to you that that happened," he said.

No companion in supernova debris

Explosion probably resulted from two white dwarfs

Web edition : 5:44 pm

access The bubble-shaped remnant of SN 1006, a type 1a supernova, reveals that two white dwarf stars probably triggered the massive stellar explosion.X-ray: NASA, CXC, G. Cassam-Chena? and J. Hughes et al/Rutgers Univ.; Radio: NRAO, AUI, NSF, GBT, K. Dyer, R. Maddalena and T. Cornwell/VLA; Optical: F. Winkler/Middlebury College, NOAO, AURA, NSF, CTIO, Schmidt/DSS

The bubble-shaped remnant of SN 1006, a type 1a supernova, reveals that two white dwarf stars probably triggered the massive stellar explosion, which went off more than a millennium ago.

Type 1a supernovas ignite when a white dwarf steals too much mass from an orbiting companion star???though the population of objects that serves as victim to such stellar burgling is uncertain.

A team of astronomers searching SN 1006?s 60-light-year-wide remnant for a large companion (which would now be zooming away from the explosion?s epicenter) came up empty. The result, published in the Sept. 27 Nature, suggests either that the explosion involved two white dwarf stars, both of which were obliterated by the blast, or that the doomed dwarf?s companion was smaller than the sun.

Angry Birds sequel 'Bad Piggies' launches tomorrow, we go hands-on

Angry Birds sequel 'Bad Piggies' launches today on iPad, we go handson

Finnish game studio Rovio went from relatively unknown to center stage with the Angry Birds franchise. And in record time, too -- the first Angry Birds landed on Apple's iOS App Store in December 2009, less than three years ago, and has since become an international sensation. The birds spawned a flock of sequels, branded tie-ins, and tons of merchandise. All this adds up to quite a bit of chicken scratch for Rovio, and also quite a bit of pressure to keep the money train rolling.

Today marks Rovio's first true sequel to the original Angry Birds, and it's focused on the other side of the farm: the pigs. Enter Bad Piggies. Unlike Angry Birds, Bad Piggies isn't about flinging anything towards a complicated structure in order to knock it down. Instead, it's about moving one very green, goofy sounding pig to various points on a map to collect items and reach a goal -- it's much more Cut the Rope than Angry Birds. The same physics-based game mechanics are at play in Bad Piggies that made both Cut the Rope and Angry Birds so popular, and they're just as fun in this time around. But how do you get said piggy to the goals? You build a contraption, of course.

Each level starts with a build section, allowing players to create all types of vehicles in order to transport the pig from point A to point B (while grabbing collectibles along the way). Only a small handful of build options are available, keeping Bad Piggies just as speedy of a game -- to pick up and play while commuting or while waiting at the dentist's office -- as its wildly successful progenitor. It's hard to say if Bad Piggies will recapture the success that Rovio found with Angry Birds proper, but all the hallmarks are there: quick, fun gameplay, colorful characters, goofy sounds, and accessibility (we couldn't help but get all three stars on every level, but you don't have to in order to proceed, should it prove too difficult). Bad Piggies launches tomorrow morning for iOS devices, Mac, and Android.

RIM Employee?s OOO Reply This Week Is Both Epic And Inspiring

blackberry_jam_america_2012-e1348599790388RIM is holding its yearly developers conference this week, playing host to over a thousand developers still dedicated to the BlackBerry platform. The company detailed several novel features to BlackBerry 10 scheduled for release in early 2013. And yes, there was this bad music video, too. Anyway, a fellow TC editor strangely posted a RIM employee's OOO reply earlier tonight. He called it both epic and sad. He stated it was delusional, yet awesome. He then laid into this random employee for having a positive outlook and faith in his struggling employer. This RIM employee deserves better. Much better. He (or she) deserves a pat on the back for sticking to the mission in spite of all the mud that's been flung. Sure, the OOO reply was a bit over the top, but that's what it's going to take to save RIM. And RIM is worth saving.

Instagram and Google Chrome get updated for iOS 6 and the iPhone 5

Instagram and Google Chrome get updated for iOS 6 and the iPhone 5 Instagram and Google Chrome have finally received updates for compatibility with iOS 6 and the iPhone 5?s larger 4-inch screen. When we say finally, it?s funny as the iPhone 5 has only been out for less than a week but it seems like if your app is not updated on the day of launch then it?s already late to the party.

Instagram, which has over 80 million users worldwide is updated to version 3.1.0 and includes iPhone 5 support, iOS 6 support, improved password recovery procedures and a redesigned registration flow.

Free Download Now

Google Chrome?s update is equally as simple; it again includes support for iPhone 5 and iOS 6 as well as a few stability and security improvements.

Free Download Now

There are still many apps that need to be updated for iOS 6 and the iPhone 5?s 4-inch screen but at least as every day goes by we can tick more and more off that wanted list. Which apps are you waiting for to be updated for iOS 6 and the iPhone 5?

More Small Business Saturday Details ? $25 Statement Credits ...

I posted about a week ago about the return of Small Business Saturday on 11/24 (the Saturday after Thanksgiving).? This is very exciting news since last year Amex cardholders were able to get a $25 statement credit for any purchase of $25 or more at a small businesses on that day.? This was true on cards issued by Amex, as well as Amex branded cards issued by other banks (like Citibank).? It was a limit of one $25 statement credit per account, but authorized users who have unique card numbers on Amex issued cards were also able to get the $25 credit.

That meant that those of us with many Amex cards (and/or many authorized users) were able to do very well with purchases on this day.? I purchased multiple $25 gift cards from a local restaurant that also is a part of the United MileagePlus Dining Rewards Network.? Not only did I get multiple free $25 gift cards to use throughout the year, but I also earned a nice chunk of United Miles through the dining program at the same time.

When I posted about the return of Small Business Saturday last week, I still had not been able to find any details confirming what the day would look like this year.? I had my fingers crossed that it would be similar to the last couple of years, and the $25 statement credits would again be available, but that information had not been confirmed.? That changed today when according to Dan?s Deals, Amex will again be issuing $25 statement credits on Small Business Saturday.? He has a screen shot (copied below) that informs small business owners that customers will again be getting the $25 statement credits.

I?ve got a nice stack of Amex cards at home that will be ready to rock and roll as soon as registration for Small Business Saturday opens.? I? recommend taking mental notes on where your Amex cards and authorized user cards are located so you can quickly get them all registered as soon as registration opens.? I wouldn?t open or keep any Amex cards open just for this promo, but if it won?t hurt you one way or the other to time some applications or closures around this promo, then I would encourage you to do that.? No sense in missing out on some free money by just a couple of days.? You can register your email address with www.shopsmall.com to be kept in the loop on official Small Business Saturday updates from Amex.

AT&T outs Uverse Easy Remote app for iOS, uses voice and gestures to take control

Not that much time has passed since AT&T announced it was bringing Zuckerberg's social network right to your U-verse-equipped TV, and now those with an iOS device are in for yet another treat. The Rethink Possible company just outed its new Easy Remote application for Apple's mobile operating system, with the main feature being a Watson-powered one that lets U-verse users control their system via voice -- you know, things like picking a show to watch or even flipping through channels. That's not it, however, the app also brings other tidbits such as one-touch access to closed captioning and gesture-based commands. Unfortunately, AT&T's Easy Remote app is only available for iOS at the moment, though we can't imagine it'll be too long before the carrier launches one for folks on a different ecosystem. Either way, you can get a quick glimpse of the application right after the break, where a pretty edifying video awaits.

Occupational Therapy in the Military | Mom's Education Sites

?
?
As America withdraws troops from Afghanistan and the Middle East, we are seeing more and more wounded soldiers returning home. This is because the wars in the Middle East have been fought mostly on the ground, and casualties and battlefield injuries have been the norm. Occupational therapists are responsible for teaching wounded veterans how to live long and productive lives in spite of their injuries and disabilities. A military occupational therapy salary is somewhat lower than those who deal mostly with private clients, however their benefits package is much more comprehensive. They enjoy greater health coverage for themselves and their families. Also the military has a history of paying for continuing education, which is something that all occupational therapists and occupational therapist assistants need to maintain in order to keep up their certifications.

(AP) ? Facebook Inc.'s stock took a hit Monday after an article in the financial magazine Barron's said it is "still too pricey" despite a sharp decline since its initial public offering.

Though Facebook's stock has plunged since its May IPO, Andrew Bary at Barron's said the stock trades at "high multiples of both sales and earnings, even as uncertainty about the outlook for its business grows."

At issue is the shift of Facebook's massive user base to mobile devices. The company is still figuring out how to advertise to people who use their mobile phones and tablet computers to access the social network. Bary said success in the mobile space is "no sure thing" for the company. Mobile ads must fit into much smaller screens, which doesn't give Facebook "much room to configure ads without alienating users," Bary said.

Facebook also has what Bary called "significant" stock-based compensation expenses. Last year, the company issued $1.4 billion worth of restricted stock and $1 billion so far this year, he noted. Yet technology companies such as Facebook "routinely encourage analysts to ignore stock-based compensation expense ? and most comply. This dubious approach to calculating profits is based on the idea that only cash expenses matter," Bary wrote. "That's a fiction, pure and simple."

Menlo Park, Calif.-based Facebook's stock fell $2.03, or 8.9 percent, to close at $20.83 on Monday. The company went public on May 18 at a share price of $38, which it has not matched since.

Bary said he thinks Facebook's stock is worth $15, well below its current price even with Monday's drop.

"That would be roughly 24 times projected 2013 profit and six times estimated 2013 revenue of $6 billion, still no bargain price," he wrote.

Facebook declined to comment.

Last week, research firm eMarketer said it expects Google Inc. to surpass Facebook in U.S. display advertising revenue this year. In February, eMarketer predicted Facebook would stay ahead of Google. The social networking company had surpassed Google in 2011. But Facebook's ad revenue has fallen short of the expectations eMarketer set in February.

That said, some analysts are still bullish on Facebook. Last week an analyst at Cantor Fitzgerald started coverage of its stock with a "Buy" rating and a target price of $26. The analyst, Youssef Squali, said he's "positive on the stock long-term" despite its botched IPO and the worry that Facebook's stock will be held down as employees become eligible to sell their stock in the coming months.

"We see significant opportunities ahead of Facebook, largely from brands moving online seeking mass reach and user engagement and from the explosion of mobile advertising in the next 2-5 years," Squali said in a note to investors.

Even though it is still a WIP, would it be possible to go ahead and reserve a spot. I love these ideas for RPs ;)

I would also like to reserve a spot, if I can. This sound like it will be fun!

Awesome! Reserved and do you three have an idea for who you'd like as your face claim and if you don't use them. No problem just tell me that and just wait and see.

This roleplay looks like a very interesting one. I can see it taking a lot of different directions! If possible, can I reserve a male spot? I need to brainstorm on a face claim though.

Hmm...I was thinking of Alex Pettyfer when he was younger, since he kind of seems the attitude and charmer personality I was leaning toward. Between Alex Pettyfer, Zac Efron, Zayn Malik, Michael Fjordbak, or Hunter Parrish?

I think I've decided on Alex Pettyfer as the face claim. I think. I was going to use Zayn Malik but he doesn't look like he can pass for his twenties just yet. Haha, is that ok?
